My Art Education
I have taken Pre-Collage Art Education Courses from Academy of Art University San Francisco since summer 2022. I wanted to see different ways to create and improve my existing skills. The courses I've taken are listed below.
Toy & Product Design
I can say this course introduced me to the industry I want to be a part of. Exploring the vast area of industrial design reassured me that my goal really was my dream. I learned about the processes of designing an item by designing one myself.
Product Design
This course helped me form a different way of thinking from what I was used to, being a bit out of my comfort zone. I explored brand awareness and the importance of unity while designing a line of products.
Graphic Design
In this course, I learned about the basics of visual design. I learned about the importance of type, color theory and the components of a good design. I'm still growing in this area just like the rest and this website is part of my journey :)
Interior Design
With this course, I tried to zoom out a bit and see the bigger picture, as I worked on my understanding of man-made environments. I practiced composition and my improvisation skills at times. I tried to use my furniture designs while making my piece for this course.
Car Design
Illustration
I took this course because I wanted to learn about a field I wasn't very interested in usually. I practiced drawing vehicles from different perspectives in this course and I think it improved the way I view objects as a whole. I learnt how to project a feeling and idea in perfect balance whilst designing a vehicle.
This was my last Pre-College Art Experience Course, so I wanted to polish my drawing and composition skills as well as develop ideas. The objective of this course was to come up with an illustrated alphabet with a certain theme. I chose the theme "body", to challenge myself a bit. I'm very please with the results.
Other Projects
I have taken part in projects and competitions independent of my art. I wanted to include those events in my portfolio here on Duranium because they have helped me grow as a person and discover what exactly I like about my career goal. I also worked on my skills while participating in teams or by myself.
